Construction has started on a new sports complex in north Bettendorf called "Iron Tee Golf." Wednesday a groundbreaking was held for the Bettendorf Golf Entertainment Venue, at Forest Grove and Middle roads.

Ryan Hintze, CEO of the developer, Middle and Forest Grove LLC, says it'll feature a three-story practice range for golf. In addition to being climate-controlled, golfers can use special technology called "Top Tracer."

"And so basically you hit your golf ball and you're able to see where your ball goes, and you can look on the screen and it projects how far it goes, how high it goes, and so it'll feedback all that data right back to the user. "

The new sports complex will also have a video arcade, with miniature golf, and several fields for baseball, softball, and soccer.

Hintze says Iron Tee Golf should be completed by late next year (2023), and cost between 45 and 50 million dollars.

It's located just east of the TBK Sports Complex.
